A delayed roller blowback operated rifle, the MSG-90 is a semi-automatic precision rifle suited for urban settings and multiple-target acquisition.

Based in the HK G3, the rifle is chambered in 7.62 x 51mm NATO (.308 Win) and is a lighter, mass produced derivation of the famous PSG-1 sniper rifle.

This rifle is later modified by Washu in Chapter 3 with a special magazine that is hyper dimensionally connected to her lab and provides an endless supply of ammunition. The weight and physics of the pistol is also changed, creating an unnaturally light and recoilless weapon that Ranma finds difficult to deal with.

Supplied with a matching suppressor can provided by Washu that allows completely silent sound suppression.
